Crews Opens Up About a Painful Chapter
Actor and television host Terry Crews is speaking candidly about the biblical principle he connects with the restoration of his marriage after years of secrecy, pornography addiction and infidelity nearly destroyed his relationship with his wife, Rebecca King-Crews.
During a September 2026 appearance on What Happens Next with Dhar Mann, Crews revisited one of the most difficult periods of his life, describing how concealed behavior eventually led him to a moment when he had to choose between continuing to lie and telling his wife the truth.
Crews acknowledged that his pornography addiction contributed to infidelity, including an encounter at a massage parlor. After his confession, Rebecca told him not to return home.
“Love Covers a Multitude of Sins”
While discussing his journey, Crews referenced 1 Peter 4:8, which teaches Christians to maintain deep love for one another because love “shall cover the multitude of sins.”
For Crews, the passage became connected to something intensely personal: experiencing love after his actions had severely damaged his marriage.
His comments do not suggest that Scripture erased the consequences of betrayal. Instead, the couple’s previous accounts describe reconciliation as a difficult process involving truth, accountability, counseling, forgiveness and rebuilding trust.
Rebecca has previously said that she initially believed their marriage was finished after learning about her husband’s infidelity and addiction. In a 2021 interview with the Los Angeles Times, the couple described their marriage at that point as essentially dead before eventually experiencing what they considered a resurrection of their relationship.
A Marriage Tested by Addiction and Infidelity
The story is not a newly disclosed scandal.
Terry and Rebecca have spoken publicly for years about the problems that brought their marriage close to collapse. Their 2021 Audible memoir, Stronger Together: How Fame, Failure and Faith Transformed Our Lives, addresses infidelity, addiction, financial struggles and other challenges they faced during their marriage.
Rebecca has also emphasized that forgiveness did not mean simply ignoring her husband’s behavior. She previously described years of counseling and rebuilding that followed the crisis. She said Terry embraced Scripture and sought meaningful changes in his life.
Faith, Forgiveness and Restoration
More than a decade after the crisis that threatened their marriage, the Crews continue to speak publicly about forgiveness and reconciliation.
In 2025, after celebrating 36 years of marriage, Terry described love as something people must continually work at, while Rebecca identified forgiveness, communication and apology as important parts of sustaining their relationship.
Their story also carries a distinctly Christian message of restoration—not that betrayal is insignificant, but that failure does not necessarily have to be the final chapter.
