Something is happening across America.
In a matter of weeks, three major Christian baptism events in North Carolina, Texas and Ohio have resulted in a combined 1,997 baptisms, raising a question that is becoming increasingly difficult for Christians to ignore:
Are we witnessing the beginnings of revival?
458 Baptized in North Carolina
On September 13, Biltmore Church baptized 458 people during its annual outdoor baptism gathering in Fletcher, North Carolina.
Approximately 4,000 people attended. Lead Pastor Bruce Frank said it was the largest single-day baptism in the church’s 137-year history.
For Biltmore, the numbers have been moving upward. The church baptized 389 people during its 2025 outdoor gathering before breaking that record this year.
Then Came 882 in Texas
Just two weeks later, on September 27, Lakepointe Church in Texas reported 882 baptisms across eight campuses.
Senior Pastor Josh Howerton described the event as a “hurricane of grace.”
Lakepointe emphasized that the 882 represented individual lives and stories—not simply a statistic. The total exceeded the church’s 2025 Baptism Sunday by exactly 200 people.
Now 657 Baptized in Ohio
Then came Ohio.
The Ohio Conference of Seventh-day Adventists announced September 28 that 657 people were baptized following a massive coordinated evangelistic effort conducted September 19–26.
Sixty-seven congregations participated, with more than 60 evangelistic campaigns operating simultaneously across Ohio.
And it may not be finished.
Conference officials reported that approximately 50 additional candidates were preparing for baptism, while others requested Bible studies and further instruction.
Is This Revival?
One baptism event can be called extraordinary.
Two can get your attention.
But when 1,997 people are baptized through three major Christian efforts in different parts of the country within weeks of one another, Christians have reason to pay attention.
Baptism statistics alone cannot prove that America is experiencing a nationwide spiritual revival. The churches involved also come from different Christian traditions, and the events were organized evangelistic and baptism initiatives rather than spontaneous gatherings.
But something measurable is happening.
People are responding to preaching, studying the Bible, publicly professing faith and entering baptismal waters.
Whether historians eventually call this a revival remains to be seen.
For now, the numbers tell their own remarkable story:
458. 882. 657.
1,997 people baptized.
And perhaps the most important question isn’t whether we are ready to call it revival.
It’s whether we are paying attention.
