Binance to Temporarily Suspend Ethereum Network Withdrawals and Deposits

On May 29, Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, will temporarily halt withdrawals and deposits on the Ethereum (ETH) network for approximately two hours. This suspension is due to scheduled wallet maintenance aimed at enhancing the platform’s functionality.

Binance has assured its users that trading activities on the Ethereum network will remain unaffected during this period. The company has pledged to manage all technical requirements seamlessly and resume normal operations promptly after the maintenance concludes.

It is important for users to be cautious of any unofficial information they may come across online, as Binance has stated there will be no further announcements regarding this maintenance.

This is not the first instance of Binance temporarily suspending network activities for maintenance. Earlier this year, the exchange paused Solana (SOL) withdrawals due to high transaction volumes, apologizing for the inconvenience and restoring services shortly thereafter.

Binance continuously updates its platform to keep pace with market trends and improve user experience. Recently, the exchange expanded its trading options on Binance Spot, adding pairs such as PEPE/EURO, AR/FDUSD, ENA/EUR, REZ/USDC, and TRB/FDUSD. Additionally, trading bots services were enabled for several pairs including PEPE/EURO and BB/USDT.

The exchange has also delisted certain cryptocurrencies due to security concerns or low liquidity. In February, it terminated services for Monero (XMR), Aragon (ANT), Multichain (MULTI), and Vai (VAI).

Earlier this month, Binance announced it would discontinue support for Rippleā€™s XRP and the stablecoin TUSD as margin assets in the Multi-Assets Mode. This change took effect on May 28, with remaining balances in futures wallets automatically converted to USDT.

These proactive measures by Binance underscore its commitment to providing a secure and efficient trading environment for its users.
