A GLOBAL MOVEMENT ENCOURAGING MILLIONS TO READ THE BIBLE
Global Bible Month returns this November as Christian ministries, churches, and Bible organizations encourage people worldwide to develop a deeper relationship with Scripture.
Observed from November 1 through November 30, the international campaign promotes daily Bible reading, spiritual reflection, and greater familiarity with biblical teachings.
The initiative invites individuals, families, and congregations to participate in a 30-day commitment to Scripture, emphasizing the importance of establishing lasting Bible-reading habits.
Although Bible-centered celebrations have existed for generations, Global Bible Month is a relatively new international campaign entering its second year.

HOW GLOBAL BIBLE MONTH BEGAN IN 2025
Global Bible Month was introduced in November 2025 with support from YouVersion, the organization behind the popular Bible App, alongside other Christian ministries and digital platforms.
The inaugural initiative encouraged Christians and interested readers to participate in a 30-day Bible challenge designed to promote consistent engagement with Scripture.
According to YouVersion, nearly three million people registered for the first challenge.
While registration does not necessarily indicate that every participant completed the program, the reported response demonstrated substantial interest in an organized international Bible-reading initiative.
The campaign’s return in 2026 represents an effort to build upon that initial participation.
DIGITAL BIBLE PLATFORMS ARE EXPANDING SCRIPTURE ACCESS
Digital technology continues to play an important role in how people access and study the Bible.
Applications such as YouVersion provide Scripture translations, audio Bibles, reading plans, and devotional materials that can be accessed through smartphones and other electronic devices.
These resources offer additional opportunities for people who may struggle to maintain consistent reading schedules or obtain printed biblical materials.
YouVersion reported in October 2026 that approximately 18.5 million people were using its family of Bible applications daily, representing an increase of more than 13% compared with the previous year.
The organization also identified anxiety, hope, and healing among frequently searched subjects, reflecting areas of interest among its digital users.
However, application usage statistics do not independently establish how deeply individuals understand or apply biblical teachings.

GLOBAL BIBLE MONTH REACHES INTERNATIONAL CITIES
Organizers have announced plans to promote Global Bible Month through public displays and international outreach efforts.
Among the planned locations are Times Square in New York City, Piccadilly Circus in London, and the Dotonbori district in Osaka, Japan.
The campaign brings together churches, Bible societies, publishers, ministries, and participating organizations seeking to expand public awareness of Scripture.
The 2026 initiative is promoted under the theme “One Word for the World,” emphasizing the campaign’s goal of encouraging Bible engagement across national and cultural boundaries.
CHURCHES ENCOURAGED TO JOIN THE 30-DAY BIBLE CHALLENGE
Christian congregations are encouraged to participate throughout November by organizing Scripture-reading activities, Bible study groups, and churchwide reading challenges.
Families and individuals can also participate independently using printed Bibles or digital reading resources.
For participating churches, the campaign offers an opportunity to encourage biblical literacy, strengthen personal devotional practices, and introduce Scripture to individuals who may not regularly read the Bible.
The initiative does not require participants to belong to a particular denomination.
WHY GLOBAL BIBLE MONTH MATTERS FOR CHRISTIANS
For Christians, the importance of Scripture extends beyond reading religious literature. The Bible serves as a foundation for understanding Christian beliefs, spiritual instruction, and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Second Timothy 3:16 declares:
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
As Global Bible Month enters its second year, the central question is whether a month of concentrated Bible reading can encourage lasting engagement with Scripture.
The campaign’s long-term significance may ultimately be measured not simply by the number of people who register, but by whether participants continue studying the Bible after November concludes.
