JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — An international religious gathering in Jerusalem is drawing attention as representatives of the Noahide movement meet November 2–6, 2026, to establish a more organized worldwide religious structure.

The First International Noahide Congress, organized by Brit Olam (Noahide World Center) under Rabbi Oury Cherki, brings together participants from six continents to discuss religious leadership, education, and international cooperation.

For Christians, the gathering raises questions about religious authority, the identity of Jesus Christ, and possible connections to biblical prophecy.

What Is the Noahide Movement?

The Noahide movement follows seven moral commandments that traditional Jewish teaching considers applicable to all humanity.

Known as the Seven Laws of Noah, they prohibit idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, prohibited sexual relationships, and eating flesh removed from a living animal. They also require establishing courts of justice.

These commandments are associated with biblical teachings concerning Noah, although their complete seven-law formulation comes from rabbinical interpretation rather than a single passage in Genesis.

Followers believe these principles provide a universal moral foundation without requiring non-Jews to convert to Judaism.

Establishing an International Religious Authority

One of the congress’s objectives is creating an international Beit Din, or rabbinical court, to provide religious guidance to Noahide communities.

Organizers also propose six continental councils, educational programs, and a founding charter establishing international cooperation.

Jerusalem would serve as the movement’s spiritual center.

However, the proposed rabbinical court is an advisory religious institution, not a government tribunal authorized to enforce religious laws upon Christians or other nonparticipants.

There is no verified evidence that Israel is adopting the Seven Noahide Laws as compulsory national legislation.

Why Should Christians Pay Attention?

A central theological difference concerns Jesus Christ.

Christianity teaches that Jesus is the divine Son of God and Savior of humanity. Traditional Judaism rejects Jesus’ divinity and the Christian doctrine of the Trinity.

Some rabbinical authorities also consider Trinitarian worship incompatible with Noahide monotheism, although Jewish interpretations differ.

Jesus declared in John 14:6 (KJV):

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The question for Christians is whether a worldwide religious framework based on Noahide theology could eventually conflict with Christian beliefs.

Is This Connected to End-Times Prophecy?

Revelation 13:11–17 describes a future system involving religious worship, political authority, and economic restrictions.

Daniel 7:25 also describes a prophetic power seeking to change times and laws.

These passages may prompt Christians to examine international religious developments carefully.

Nevertheless, no verified evidence connects the Noahide Congress to the fulfillment of Revelation 13, the mark of the beast, or the establishment of a compulsory one-world religion.

Such connections remain theological interpretations, not established facts.

CNIR’s Central Question

As the Noahide movement develops international leadership centered in Jerusalem, could its growing influence eventually create conflicts with Christianity, particularly concerning the worship of Jesus Christ?

For now, the congress represents an effort to organize a voluntary religious movement, not evidence of government-enforced religious restrictions.

Christians should examine its teachings and future developments while distinguishing documented facts from speculation.

As 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) instructs:

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
