Binance France Director Resigns Amid Ongoing Executive Exodus: Latest Departure Adds to Growing List

In a year marked by a string of high-profile departures, Stéphanie Cabossioras, the Executive Director of Binance France, has become the latest senior executive to exit the cryptocurrency exchange. This marks her as at least the tenth senior executive to part ways with Binance in 2023.

Binance France President David Prinçay publicly confirmed Cabossioras’ resignation, expressing gratitude for her contributions during her tenure. Cabossioras initially joined Binance as the head of legal for its French operations in April 2022 and swiftly ascended to the position of Executive Director by November of the same year.

It’s worth noting that despite these executive departures, Binance maintains that its operations in France remain robust and unaffected by the changes in leadership.

Cabossioras, before her stint with Binance, served as the General Counsel at Autorité des marchés financiers, the regulatory body responsible for financial oversight in the Canadian province of Quebec.

Binance has been under heightened scrutiny, with its French arm facing an investigation by the Paris Prosecutor’s Office over allegations of “aggravated money laundering” and other charges.

These high-profile departures are occurring against the backdrop of increased legal challenges for Binance in the United States. The Commodities Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission have both filed lawsuits against the exchange, its affiliates, and its CEO, Changpeng Zhao, further complicating the company’s legal landscape.
