NEW LAWSUIT ACCUSES TEXAS PASTOR OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Pastor Ronnie Goines, leader of Koinonia Christian Church, is facing a new civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault and the misuse of spiritual authority.
The lawsuit, reportedly filed October 27, 2026, in Dallas County, names Goines and his church as defendants.
According to FOX 4 Dallas, the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, alleges that Goines exploited her trust through religious counseling before two incidents of alleged sexual assault in 2025.
The allegations remain unproven, and the lawsuit does not establish criminal wrongdoing.
ALLEGATIONS OF SPIRITUAL MANIPULATION EMERGE
According to the complaint, the woman met Goines at a Dallas restaurant in June 2025 and initially expressed interest in maintaining a professional relationship.
The lawsuit alleges that Goines subsequently introduced her to business contacts associated with his church and began providing personal counseling.
During their interactions, he allegedly suggested that God had brought them together.
The plaintiff contends that these religious representations contributed to a relationship in which spiritual authority was used to influence her trust and decisions.
The complaint identifies alleged sexual assaults on August 20 and September 23, 2025, at separate Texas residences.
The plaintiff seeks financial compensation for alleged emotional distress, medical expenses, physical suffering, and lost earnings.

PREVIOUS CRIMINAL CHARGES DISMISSED IN 2025
Goines previously faced criminal accusations following his arrest in July 2024.
However, a Tarrant County grand jury declined to indict him on a felony sexual assault charge in March 2025. A remaining misdemeanor indecent assault charge was dismissed the following month.
Goines maintained his innocence throughout those proceedings.
Koinonia Christian Church publicly supported its pastor following the earlier grand jury decision, expressing confidence that the appropriate conclusion had been reached.
Those previous criminal proceedings are legally distinct from the newly reported civil lawsuit.
The latest complaint also alleges negligent hiring, supervision, and retention by the church.
BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP AND CHURCH ACCOUNTABILITY
The allegations raise broader questions about pastoral responsibility, spiritual counseling, and institutional oversight.
First Timothy 3:2 (KJV) establishes an important qualification for church leadership:
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.”
Similarly, 1 Peter 5:2–3 emphasizes responsible spiritual oversight rather than domination over those entrusted to church leadership.
These biblical principles underscore the importance of integrity and accountability without determining whether the accusations against Goines are true.
CNIR INVESTIGATIVE CONCLUSION: WHO HOLDS CHURCH LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE?
The lawsuit places Koinonia Christian Church under renewed scrutiny concerning pastoral conduct and congregational protection.
Although previous criminal charges were dismissed, the latest civil allegations remain unresolved.
Goines and the church retain the right to challenge the accusations through the legal process.
For Christian congregations, the controversy highlights an essential question: How can churches safeguard spiritual trust while ensuring that pastoral authority remains subject to meaningful accountability?
CNIR will continue monitoring developments, including court proceedings and verified responses from the parties.
